On behalf of the organising committee, it is with great pleasure that I invite you to the next FutureHealth Conference, to be held on 14 - 16 November 2019 in Singapore at the cutting–edge Novena Health-city campus of the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine), a joint medical school by Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and Imperial College London.

FutureHealth is jointly organised by LKCMedicine, NTU Institute for Health Technologies (HealthTech NTU) and the Centre for Healthcare Innovation (CHI) of Tan Tock Seng Hospital, one of Singapore’s largest acute care hospitals. The inaugural conference held in 2017, launched by the Singapore Minister for Health Mr Gan Kim Yong, was a tremendous success with more than 400 delegates from all over Singapore and the world attending.
This year’s conference theme “Emerging Technologies in Healthcare” will bring the rapidly progressing field of Regenerative Medicine and the emerging application of Artificial Intelligence to healthcare into focus.

Our two plenary lecturers, K. VijayRaghavan FRS, Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India, Lord Ara Darzi FRS, Director of the Institute of Global Health Innovation at Imperial College London,  head an outstanding line-up of world-renowned keynote speakers. In addition, the programme will include invited talks by Singapore based researchers, debates, workshops, poster presentations, demonstrations and, for the first time this year, a session devoted to presentations by PhD students and post-doctoral researchers. In between all of this, there will of course be plenty of networking opportunities!

Singapore is well-placed to host such a conference offering a rich and exciting preview into the future of healthcare. Voted by many as the world’s greatest city with an international, multi-racial populace, this young nation is forging ahead as a Smart Nation driving innovation and harnessing smart technology for everyday living. We hope that you will join us for what promises to be an exhilarating meeting of the minds of medical innovators, policy-makers, healthcare practitioners, researchers and health-tech industry players.

I look forward to welcoming you this November!

With best wishes,
Philip Ingham FRS
